Our view on takfirism (excommunication)
What is the view of the Furkan Movement and Imam Alparslan Kuytul on takfirism?
One of the recent seditions among Muslims is undoubtedly the issue of takfirism. For those who accuse Imam Alparslan Kuytul and the Furkan Movement of having a takfirist mentality, we have compiled Alparslan Kuytul Sheikh's views on takfir.
Regarding takfirism, the Imam Alparslan Kuytul never threatened any Muslim with being an infidel, but stated that it is only a game, a project to break the bonds of brotherhood among Muslims and to prepare the ground for fights between communities.
Takfirism is a shadowy phenomenon that is unknown exactly when, by whom and where it emerged, but it has made a name for itself with its purpose and what it does in social life. Although it is not a congregation or a sect, the views of the takfirist mentality are being spread everywhere. Takfirism is a Western-supported project aimed at pitting Muslims against each other and getting them killed, the foundations of which do not go back very far. A Muslim cannot kill a fellow Muslim. He can kill him if he makes takfir and considers him an infidel. One way for Muslims to hate each other and kill each other easily without the need for a kafir is to take advantage of the theological and political disagreements between them, to fuel them and to spread ideas imposed from outside among Muslims in order to break the unity. Unfortunately, takfirism is the bread and butter of the infidels and is a blow to the fragmented Islamic Ummah from within.
A person who is an Ahl al-Qibla and who says, "I am a Muslim" cannot be excommunicated. Not everyone has the right to make ijtihad and not everyone has the right to call anyone a kafir. It is the right of people with knowledge to decide. Is this person a kafir or not? It is not for everyone to decide that. Everything needs experience, and Islamic sciences also need experience. A person who has experience in science and knows the opinions of scholars well, looks at verses and hadiths in a balanced way, with experience, but if he does not have this experience, he misunderstands those verses and hadiths. Some people, who have never specialized in Islamic sciences in their lives, can call Muslim masses, Imams and communities infidels with a few verses and hadiths that they know only the surface. This is a great ignorance! Everyone must do their part.
They try to spread takfirist ideas regardless of the environment. These people come and try to influence young people, especially those between the ages of 17 and 22, and try to make them call everyone a kafir. We do not have such a view. We do not have the view that those who join the army, who become policemen, who vote for parties are infidels! We have never called those who vote, those who are civil servants infidels. We have never been and will never be one of these. On the contrary, we said, "Don't call them infidels, don't talk like that." We don't vote. We do not takfir those who vote. Because there are those who vote for parties with the idea that they will benefit Islam. "No matter what a person does to serve Islam, he is not a kafir." If someone's intentions are such and he is wrong, you can call him 'wrong', you can say 'this is not the way to serve', you can say 'this is sinful', but you cannot call him a kafir. Because you have to take his intention into account. Although we have explained this many times, such slanders are still being thrown.
"We are not takfirists and we are far from takfirists. This is not new, we have been saying this for years."
