What to Do on the Night of Power?
It is recommended among the scholars to pray a lot about the prayers to be performed on the Night of Power, to repent and ask for forgiveness, and to evaluate this night with prayers. However, in order to change our lives on this night when the Quran begins to be revealed, we can make decisions that will please Allah and help us get closer to our Lord through careful accounting.
Accounting for Life: First of all, one should undertake serious accounting on such an important day. He must bring himself to account before the main day of reckoning. With accounting, one can see the good and bad aspects. Diagnosis is essential for treatment; He must identify his mistakes, mistakes and deficiencies, and according to the results of his accounting, he must be instrumental in taking steps to eliminate and complete the deficiencies, to bring his excesses to the line of moderation, and to give the necessary importance and value to the issues that he does not care about but are important in the sight of Allah.
In the Night of Power, goals should be determined and maximum effort should be made to achieve these goals. There is no success or beautiful result in this world that does not include being able to see the shortcomings, identifying them, treating them, maintaining them, repairing them, making efforts and efforts... Our soul needs this effort above all else.
One should meditate; One of the most important focal points of the question of what to do on the Night of Power is deep contemplation, which is one of the important worships.
We should think deeply about the creation of the universe and human beings and ask, "Who am I, why was I created?" What is my purpose in coming to life? Where did I come from and where am I going? What does Allah want from me and is He pleased with me? Deep thoughts should be taken on some vital basic issues such as these. By looking at the book of the universe, one should once again tremble before the majesty of Allah and not rebel against his Lord by contemplating his own helplessness. As a result, a person experiences an indescribable breadth of horizons and enters a climate of spiritual ascension.
An hour of contemplation is sometimes better than a year of worship.” (Suyutî, Camiu's-Sağir, II/127)
Truths of Faith: In order for the servant's connection with his Lord to be strong, he must concentrate on the truth of faith and the most fundamental issue, the truth of Tawhid. When a person says "La ilahe illallah" and rejects all false gods other than Allah, he says, "Let Allah rule my life, just as Allah rules the entire universe. Just as there is no authority other than Him in the universe, there should be no authority other than Him in my life." When a Muslim places this consciousness in his mind and this belief in his heart, he lives every phase of his life with the consciousness that "in God's world, what God says must happen."
The heavy burden and responsibility placed on our Prophet's shoulders with the arrival of revelation should be considered. One should send blessings and greetings to our Prophet (pbuh) and hope for his intercession. We should try to bring the struggle for Islam, His greatest sunnah, into our lives.
The awareness of being an Ummah must be renewed. This night, when the first drops of revelation were sent, is God's intervention on earth. The understanding of a prophet appointed for all humanity on earth and an ummah that is responsible for the people in the world who follow him came with him. With this awareness, while our Muslim brothers are suffering in various parts of the world, we should see these holy months as an opportunity for the unity of our ummah and what are my duties as a member of the ummah? This should be thought about.
