Our View on Racism
What does the Furkan Movement and Imam Alparslan Kuytul think about racism?
Racism is seeing your own race as superior to other races. Racism is defending your own kin, even if they are in the wrong.
Islam declares that all Muslims are brothers and sisters regardless of language, color or race. In the sight of Allah, people are as equal as the threads of a comb. In Islam, there is no superiority of one race over another race or one nation over another nation. No one can choose his race or nationality as he cannot choose his parents. People may love their own race, their own relatives more than other races. This is normal and not wrong. But it is not permissible to look down on other people just because they are of one's own race. It is racism to put race above religion, or to consider an infidel of one's own nationality superior to a Muslim of another nationality. Allah (swt) has unequivocally rejected racism in the Holy Qur'an. The Messenger of Allah has given very serious warnings on this issue: "O people! Indeed We have created you from a male and a female. We have made you into peoples and tribes so that you may be acquainted with one another. Verily, the most superior of you in the sight of Allah is the one who is the most advanced in taqwa (not race or lineage). Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Knowing. (Hujurat:13)" In a hadith narrated from Ibn Najjar, the Messenger of Allah said:" "As your Lord is one, so are your fathers, your religion and your Prophet. The Arab has no superiority over the Persian and the Persian over the Arab. Red has no superiority over black and black over red. No nation has superiority over another. Superiority is only through piety."
The enemies of Islam have divided Muslims into pieces with divide and conquer tactics. Further fragmentation through racism, nationalism and nationalistic populism is to the detriment of Muslims. If Muslims rule with Islam and ensure brotherhood and give equal rights to all races, there will be no need for division and disintegration, no need to establish separate states. We think that Muslims should unite, we cannot see it right for them to be further divided. Each race, seeing that its race is not given its rights, wants to establish a separate state. However, if all Muslims followed the rulings of Islam, if an Islamic state was established instead of a racial state, and if each race was given the full rights granted by Islam, they would unite. We are one Ummah, we should not have racial states. Our Lord says in the Holy Quran: "All of you hold fast to the rope of Allah. Do not scatter and separate." We should look for ways to unite two states, not divide one state into two.
Imam Alparslan Kuytul warns all Muslims against the danger of racism. Instead of dividing, we should be against fragmentation, whether Turkish, Kurdish or Arab. The infidels have already divided us into dozens of pieces. We should not cause another division. All races should abandon the concept of an ethnostate. In order not to be divided again, everyone should make the Qur'an the arbiter and demand Islamic Civilization. Let's make the Qur'an the arbiter, let everyone - Kurds, Turks, Arabs - agree to whatever rights the Qur'an gives to each race, and let us never be divided! We will all lose when we are divided. That is why no Muslim should be in favor of a nation state, every Muslim should always have the understanding of a khilafah We cannot change our race, but we can agree that we are all Muslims and we can live as brothers and sisters just like the Islamic civilizations of the past.
