Our Opinion on Partisanship and Political Islam
What do the Furkan Movement and Mr. Alparslan Kuytul think about partisanship and political Islam?
Politics is the art of governing and managing people. Islam is the religion sent to rule people. The Qur'an came to rule the world, it does not accept to be ruled. Allah is the Judge; He is the ruler, He does not accept to be ruled.
Since the first day of its establishment, the Furkan Movement has acted on the slogan "Sovereignty belongs to Allah". A state that Allah will be pleased with, a civilization created on the path of His Messenger. In the 21st century, what is the way that Allah will be pleased with and that is in accordance with the prophetic method? Can Muslims really build a state and a civilization in accordance with the will of Allah through party politics and political Islam? Or is this just another ploy of the infidels to distract Muslims? Sheikh Alparslan Kuytul clearly reveals what partyism and political Islam have brought and taken away from Muslims.
With the First World War, the Ottoman state, which was ruled by Sharia and was under the Caliphate, was destroyed and the unity of the Ummah of Muhammad was shattered. Until then, the issue of how to make Islam dominant was not on the agenda because the state was Islamic and ruled by Sharia. With the newly established Republic of Turkey, the regime changed and Muslims had a mission to make Islam dominant again. However, the changing conjuncture, the situation of Muslims and the un-Islamic system led Muslims to try other methods other than the prophetic method to make Islam dominant. One of these methods is party politics and political Islam. For years, Muslims have thought that Islam could prevail with this method, but they have neither achieved their goal nor have they been able to take a prophetic, uncompromising stance as they should.
There is one religion, one book and therefore only one way to make this religion dominant. And that is the prophetic method of action. The path that will lead to the goal without compromise and in the shortest way is the path that the Prophet followed and bequeathed to his ummah. It is difficult, it is thorny, but it has been tried, approved by Allah [Azza Wa Jal] and is the most solid path. Muslims have been looking for a path that is free of danger and that will lead them to the goal immediately, and the enemies of religion, knowing this, have presented the path of the party in front of Muslims. Muslims, who were looking for an easy and thornless path, did not see the trap set by their enemies with the logic that "the best path is the path without thorns" and clung to this path that pleased their ego. With the path without thorns and away from danger, they would both make Islam dominant(!), gain office and fame, and receive the reward of jihad. However, Muslims could not account for what the path of partisanship would take away from them rather than what it would bring. With partisanship and political Islam, Muslims have forgotten what they set out for and have lost track of how to move forward. Those who set out with the aim of making Islam dominant and serving Islam have lost a lot and still continue to lose.
**With the adoption of partisanship by Muslims, a tawhidi movement could not be formed in Turkey. Thanks to the majority who believed that Islam could be made dominant through partisanship, the parties prevented the work of the congregations and used their power to end them. Muslims thought that being in government was the real power. However, the only real power is societies educated in Islam.
**In the struggle with the party method, the most fundamental message of Islam, "La Ilahe Illallah", that there is no authority to be obeyed except Allah, that in all matters one must adhere to His laws alone, and reject all other laws and principles, was placed in the backburner, and issues such as the infrastructure development took precedence over tawheed.
**Muslim rulers who swore an oath on secularism and democracy at the beginning through the party method have said yes to committing haram and signing haram in the future.
**Despite knowing that Islam is the only true religion until the Day of Judgment, Muslims have prioritized superstitious ideologies over Islam and have even come to defend it.
**Muslims who dreamed that they would come to high positions through the party method and defend Islam everywhere, became worldly when they came to their positions. They forgot what they set out for and became slaves of their seats/offices.
**When those who set out with the party method lost their Islamist lines when they came to power and their revolutionary spirit died, they became the main actor and protector of the system they criticized and they moved away from their goals.
**With the party method, Muslims became opponents of the parties, not the false system. They misplaced their oppositional spirit.
**Muslims who struggled to reach the top and become the government did not do what they should have done and did not guide the societies. However, our Lord has made it clear in the Qur'an that "Unless a society changes what is in itself, Allah will not change what is in that society".
**The party method does not invite the people to a new order and a new civilization, but causes the existing order to be considered as the right one and a radical change is not considered/allowed.
One can list dozens of other points about what the party method causes to lose. The proponents of the party method and political Islam have always wanted to see its benefits. But it seems that the losses of the party method are greater than the gains.
Muslims should think again: Is it really possible to make Islam dominant through the party method in the face of these facts? Can the system that Allah wants be made dominant in ways that Allah is not pleased with? Let us not look for evidence of our wrong ways from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. A Muslim must first look to the Qur'an and follow the path of his prophet. Let us not forget that you cannot run to paradise on the horse of Satan...
