Hz. Ömer's Pre-Islamic Life
Prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca. Ömer spent his childhood years helping his family and uncles by herding their camels and herds. He grew up in a tribal environment where political and religious activity took place in Mecca before his prophethood. Omar ibn Khattab (ra) later started to trade in Mecca, the religious and commercial center of the Arabian peninsula, like other Qurayshis, and engaged in import and export business in today's terms, and reached an important position in the Meccan society. He spent half of his life in this way of ignorance.

Although he grew up like any other young man living in the Quraysh, he also had different characteristics that distinguished him from others. One of these features; This is because he was one of the few people in that age who knew how to read and write. During the period of ignorance, he was the sifare (embassy) of the Meccan state. If a war breaks out, Hz. Omar was sent as an ambassador. According to the information and reports he provided, the Meccan state would take the necessary steps. In addition, Hz. Muhammad also helped resolve disputes between tribes. Ömer would take an active role. The decisions he made were considered satisfactory by people and were taken into consideration.

Just as he had a high character after he converted to Islam, he always tried to take care of people's affairs, help them, and be at the forefront in solving problems; He was a person with these qualities even in the age of ignorance. In fact, he is the Prophet. He was someone who fully abided by the words of the Prophet (pbuh): "Those who are good in ignorance are also good in Islam." (Bukhari)

Hz. Even though Omar appeared to be a tough person before accepting Islam, he actually experienced some events that revealed the soft-heartedness hidden deep in his heart. These events, which would ignite the process of believing, left deep scars on him.

First Incident
Before embracing Islam, he used to meet with the Meccan leaders against the Muslims in Daru'n-Nedve. Defamating Islam, destroying it, Hz. He would attend meetings held with the aim of destroying the reputation of Muhammad (pbuh) and alienating people from Islam, and he would guide people with his intelligence. Again, during such a meeting, he could no longer stand it and decided to take his sword and kill the Messenger of Allah. Nuaym bin Abdullah saw him on the road and asked where he was going. Hz. Omar, Hz. When he said that he was going to kill Muhammad (pbuh), Nuaym tried to change his mind and said: "You deal with your family members first. Thereupon, he asked them to take him to the Prophet (PBUH). When he arrived, Hz. He became a Muslim in the presence of the Prophet.
